Every one of the carers I have met deserves a medal for the support and assistance they have given to my mother and myself. Since my accident and my mother’s following accident, all the carers have bought a little sunshine into our lives. Each smile is worth a million pounds and I only wish they could be paid a lot more. They’re all worth it. Anonymous
I would like to thank and commend our Care Coordinator, who has been a constant source of support, reassurance and encouragement along with her staff. They have enabled my 93 year old mother to stay in her own home and to retain a much appreciated degree of independence, also affording me considerable respite, without which I would not have been able to cope. My Care Coordinator is extremely professional and a credit to the organisation. Anonymous
The training has had a positive effect because techniques used for caring have been made easier and less strenuous. Benefits of having this training are that I am now knowledgeable of the correct way of helping and how different machines work i.e. Hoist
I am happy with the service provided with the groups. I find them very encouraging and it is reassuring to know that help is there when needed.
The process has been both cathartic and therapeutic and I would not be in the better place I am now, without this support. She helped me cross a bridge - small steps.
All your staff have been wonderful, and could not have been a better choice for us. They were so kind, friendly, patient, willing, flexible and anxious to please. Nothing was too much trouble or too horrible for them, and I quickly became confident that I could safely leave everything in a capable and sensible pair of hands, while I went away to another room to rest. Your staff truly do deliver what you claim and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. D.M.P
I strongly believe an organisation like DISC plays a vital role in making a difference in the lives of carers like myself in the support that they provide. It is our lifeline and first point of contact to the services that we require as carers. It may be a good idea for them to provide a list of care assistants/volunteers who are willing to help/work flexible hours should they arise required for whatever reason
